| TWO PONY DAY CAMP 2017 |
Two Pony Gardens has periodically hosted a project called YELL (Youth Environmental Learning and Literacy) with the Southside Family school for the past four years, and the positivity of those experiences led to our enthusiasm for working with kids outdoors, and the formation of this day camp! We hope the results will be such that in future seasons we can offer more team-based learning experiences like these to look forward to, building new skills and interests centered on the beauty and brilliance of nature and our ecosystem. Join us!
Lisa (Two Pony Matriarch and Queen Dahlia Cultivator) has been brainstorming with us (Hi! Two Pony Day Camp Counselors Robyn and Katherine here!) to create the unique curriculum that will be taking on life during the Two Pony Day Camp. We are excited to offer your kiddos an opportunity to be a part of the inaugural group of campers! When we hit this first week out of the park will be able to expand the offerings next summer.
Below is a outline of what we have planned, each activity is subject to alteration depending on farm obstacles and the weather, but this is meant to give you an idea of the subject matter this summer's day camp will include. An appreciation for farm life, as well as hands-on and activity-driven development are what we strive to weave into a fun and educational experience for your child!

Monday | Farm & Garden Day Planting, Weeding, Harvest, Soil Health Activities Tuesday | Bug Day Yuuki (the Bee Guy!) talks bees, Bug ID Games Wednesday | Nature Day Walk in the Woods & Foraging Thursday | Pony + Goat Day Milking goats, Grooming Ponies & Polaroid Photos Friday | PIZZA PARTY + PARENTS DAY! Dough prep, Harvesting Ingredients, Party Prep 1:00 - 1:45 LUNCH 1:45 - 2:30 CRAFT M: making / planting arugula boxes Tu: wildflower bombs & painting W: clay craft / conservation letter writing activity Th: making garlands & photo frames F: party decorations, flower crowns 2:30 - 3:00 De-brief / Circle + Song Time 3:00 - 4:00 PICK UP WINDOW |
Friday evening we will be firing up the pizza oven to feed everyone during pick up window time, giving the campers a chance to show off to parents crafts and what they've learned about life on the farm.
This camp is geared towards children ages 5 to 10 year olds, with exceptions based on family needs or interest. Mixing ages in groups is something we believe will serve the experience by giving older campers an opportunity to take leadership roles and assist younger campers.
COST: $65 a day
or $275 for the full 5 days
Snacks will be included but campers will be expected to bring bag lunches with them each day.
We understand this is late notice but it also might give you a last chance to give your kids a last minute outdoor, summer experience like none other! Thanks for taking the time to read about our new brain child and we hope we will get the chance to spread our passion on to your children!
